This is our fourth attempt to resolve Fosters appeal of his 1989 convictions of (1) conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine, (2) possessing methamphetamine, and (3) carrying a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime in violation of 18 U.S.C. S 924(c)(1) (1988). The only remaining issue in this long saga is whether the evidence presented in the district court was sufficient to prove the "carries a firearm" element of the S 924(c)(1) offense, as that element was recently clarified by the Supreme Court in Muscarello v. United States, _______ U.S. _______, 118 S. Ct. 1911 (1998). Our answer is yes, and we affirm.
